YEREVAN.- The issue of the Secretary General of the CSTO is not solved yet, spokesperson of acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Arman Yeghoyan stated, denying the announcement of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko .

Earlier it was reported that the issue related to the appointment of the CSTO secretary general has been almost settled, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko told reporters on the sidelines of the Eurasian Union and CIS summits in Saint Petersburg.

“We suddenly came close to holding a CSTO summit, and we actually almost solved the problem related to the appointment of the secretary general,” the Belarusian leader noted.

 

When asked for more details, Alexander Lukashenko said that a Belarusian representative will be appointed to the post of the CSTO secretary general.

“We agreed on the appointment process. This will be an individual interview with every head of the CSTO member state, and then a resolution approving this appointment will be signed,” the Belarus president said.
