YPF: Company Achieves Record Shale Gas Output In Vaca Muerta

(Agencia CMA Latam) - Argentinean state-owned oil company YPF reached its highest level to date of shale gas production in Neuquén's Vaca Muerta field, with a total volume of 11.36 million cubic meters per day (m3/day), the official news agency Télam reported.

The information was revealed by YPF's president, Miguel Angel Gutiérrez, while participating in a seminar organized by the Argentinean Institute of Energy "General Mosconi" at the University of Business Sciences (UCES).

Gutiérrez said that the company has just achieved a daily production of 4.475 million m3/day in the El Orejano area, in Vaca Muerta. With this, Gutiérrez specified that with the contribution of this block, the total YPF operations in Vaca Muerta add a record gross value (reference measure for the gas industry) of 11.36 m3/day in shale gas production.
