A Jamestown man was arrested early Saturday following a brief chase, according to Sgt. Shane Gallagher, day shift supervisor for Jamestown Police Department.

Levi Guthmiller, 25, was arrested for fleeing a police officer, reckless driving and reckless endangerment. He is currently being held at Stutsman County Correctional Center.

The incident started at 12:23 a.m. when a JPD officer attempted to stop Guthmiller’s car in the 200 block of Fourth Avenue Southwest, Gallagher said. Guthmiller led police in a pursuit a few miles west of Jamestown until he surrendered without incident along 79th Avenue Southeast.

Guthmiller’s car reached excessive speed during the pursuit, Gallagher said. There was no property damage or injury as a result of the pursuit, he said.

The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and North Dakota Highway Patrol also responded to the call as the vehicles exited Jamestown, Gallagher said.
