Kyrgyz President charged to strengthen work in Internal Affairs Agencies

Bishkek, Feb. 19, 2018 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received today Minister of Internal Affairs of the country Ulan Israilov, the press service of the President reported.

Measures and tasks to fight against corruption in the Internal Affairs Agencies were discussed in accordance with the decision of the meeting of Security Council from Feb. 8, 2018.

Jeenbekov set the task to strengthen the work on removing dishonest employees from the Internal Affairs Departments, who are hiding behind the police uniform are engaged in corruption cases and are involved in criminally punishable crimes, including drug-related crimes. In addition, the Head of State instructed the completion of all activities related to reforming of the Internal Affairs Agencies.

The President reminded that based on the results of recent sociological surveys conducted in Kyrgyzstan by international organizations, corruption and unemployment have become problems that are particularly troubling the society, and the Internal Affairs Agencies are unfortunately leading in these surveys.

"You have a serious task in eradicating corruption," the President stressed and also instructed the Minister to strengthen and intensify efforts in fighting against crime in the country as well.
