Zimbabwe’s first win in this Tri-nation series has come in the form  of a thrilling 12-run win against Sri Lanka in Dhaka. Tendai Chatara was the chief architect of the vicotry, taking four wickets, including that of Thisara Perera who looked like he could run away with the game. It is Sri Lanka’s third successive defeat to Zimbabwe in ODIs, which could be seen as an indicator of their seemingly never-ending decline.

1928 hrs IST: GONE! And they have done it! Chatara gets Chameera and that seals it for Zimbabwe. They have defeated Sri Lanka by 12 runs to take their second match of the Tri-Nation series.

1700 hrs IST: Sri Lanka steady after early setbacks. Angelo Mathews and Kusal Perera doing the job for the Lankan side. It is imperative that these two stay together for long and take the game deep into the final overs.

1630 hrs IST: OUT!  Zimbabwe strikes once again as Chatara removes Kusal Mendis.

1330 hrs IST: OUT ! Zimbabwe lose their third wicket. Gunaratne bags the wicket of the well-settled Masakadza for 73. Zim are 142/3. Sikandar Raza walks in at the crease.

1319 hrs IST: At the half-way stage Zimbabwe are 126/2. The experienced duo of Masakadza (62*) and Brendon Taylor (22*) are at the crease.

1310 hrs IST: After a couple of jolts in the middle, Zimbabwe are going steady with the experienced duo of Masakadza and Brendon Taylor at the crease. Crucial period of play and a big partnership is the need of the hour for the African nation.

1240 hrs IST: OUT! Zimbabwe lose their second wicket. Craig Ervine returns to the pavilion. Zim are 85/2 after 17 ovs.

1225 hrs IST: OUT! Solomon Mire perishes for 34 while trying to hit a short ball by Thisara Perera. Zim are 75/1 after 13 ovs. Craig Ervine arrives at the crease.

1210 hrs IST: Hamilton Masakadza (33), Solomon Mire (30) keep Zimbabwe steady after 10 overs.
Zim are 64/0 after 10 ovs.

1200 hrs IST: Tackling spin does not seem to be a problem for Zimbabwe today. Mire and Masakadza have brought up the 50-run stand. Akila Dananjaya is on the receiving end as he leaks 11 runs of the eight over. Zim are 55/0 after 8 ovs.

1150 hrs IST: Solomon Mire is taking the attack to the Lankan attack. Slams two boundaries in one over of Suranga Lakmal. After 5 overs, Zim are 30/0.

1143 hrs IST: Brisk start by Zimbabwe as they reach 19/0 after 3 overs.

1140 hrs IST: Following the footsteps of Bangladesh, Mathews introduces spin from the other end in the form of Akila Dananjaya.

1130 hrs IST: A couple of boundaries in the first over and Zimbabwe are off to a flyer. Angelo Mathews is not pleased with this start. Zim are 8/0 after the first over.

1112 hrs IST: Angelo Mathews wins the toss and opts to field first. “The wicket looks on a slower side and we would like to capitalize first”, says Mathews.
